If you are a cinephile and if you love Hindi movies, there is little chance that you would miss any movie from the three big Khans of Bollywood, that to an actually good one. But there are many movies that are missed by audiences due to lack of grand promotions or various other reasons. Here is a short list of 3 movies of Shahrukh, Salman and Aamir Khan that you will regret not watching till now.
1947 Earth (1998)- Voot:
Deepa Mehta’s ‘Earth’ is a part of the Elements Trilogy with two other movies ‘Fire’ and ‘Water’ where she tells disturbing and tabooed stories. Earth is the story of partition of India and how it affected the average Indian. The songs are made by the magical duo of A.R Rahman and Javed Akhtar and the are absolute gems. The story is told in the perspective of a woman who witnessed the most gruesome phases of the partition as an eight year old. It is adapted from Bapsi Sidhwa’s book ‘Ice Candy Man’. Aamir Khan plays the antagonist, a quite grey character to be specific and he is bound to win your heart with the marvellously real and deft performance he gives.
Khamoshi: The Musical (1996)- Amazon Prime Video:
Long before the superhit ‘Hum dil De Chuke Sanam’, Salman Khan acted as the lead in Sanjay Leela Bhanshali’s debut feature ‘Khamoshi: The Musical’. Salman Khan actually gives a decent performance in the movie, unlike most of his popular films. The cast includes Manisha Koirala, Nana Patekar, Raghuvir Yadav and many other talented actors. It is the story of a daughter of deaf mute parents who wants them to understand her as she finds her calling in music. The music album of the movie is as beautiful as any other popular Sanjay Leela Bhanshali album. Nana Patekar’s acting will make you cry for sure. Watch this romantic, feel-good musical and feel the magic of Sanjay Leela Bhanshali’s world once again with this underrated gem.
Paheli (2005)- Netflix:
Paheli is a brilliant fantasy love story directed by actor-director Amol Palekar and stars Shahrukh Khan as the lead and Rani Mukherjee, Amitabh Bachchan and many other talented actors in important roles. It is based on the culturally rich settings of Rajasthan and tells the story of a newly wed woman, played by Rani Mukherjee beautifully, and a ghost who happens to look exactly like her husband who has gone away for work. The ghost eventually falls in love with the woman and the story continues smoothly. You will love the style with which the movie is made.
