3 Netflix shows to watch if you’re missing your Girl Bestie!

1. Emily in Paris

2020’s most watched comedy series on Netflix (58 million), headlined by Lily Collins is the story of a young, 20-something, ambitious marketing executive, Emily Cooper, sent from Chicago to Paris to provide an American perspective to their social media strategy. From the creators of Sex and the City, the series follows her adventures and challenges in the new city- new workplace, new romances and new friendships. Emily’s friendship with Mindy, (played by Ashley Park) is particularly heartwarming and will have you missing your bestie right away!

The show also inspired many into the world of social media influencing. From fashion goals to the handsome Gabriel (played by Lucas Bravo), this show will give you ultimate ‘chick-flick’ vibes! Filming for Season 2 started on May 3rd and we can’t wait for it!

2. The Bold Type

Katie Stevens, Meghann Fahy and Aisha Dee star in this Netflix comedy-drama series, that portrays the lives of three young, millennial women working at a women’s lifestyle and fashion magazine. How they start off and eventually climb up the ladder of success forms the crux of the show.

Inspired by the life of Cosmopolitan editor Joanna Coles, this show follows the girls juggling their careers, friendships, romances and challenges in the big city life, while finding their ground. The three girls meeting and constantly updating each other in the closet room, will give you total #girlgang goals!
The 5th and final season is streaming on American television and will soon be on Netflix.

3. Firefly Lane

Based on Kristin Hannah’s bestselling book by the same name, this show is ultimate ‘bestie goals’!

The series follows the life and chronicles of two young girls, Tully and Kate (played by Katherine Heigl and Sarah Chalke), who meet as neighbours on Firefly Lane, and subsequently become inseparable best friends. Their journey and friendship through the next 30 years form the essence of the show. Their strong and beautiful friendship through the ups and downs of life will take you back down memory lane and just a little heads up- some scenes may even make you tear up and drunk dial your bestie!

On May 26th, Netflix announced that the series will return for a Season 2 since Season 1 ended with a few cliffhangers. So, if you haven’t watched it already, we suggest you sit down with your bestie and a big box of tissues to enjoy this heartwarming show!
