At 12 AM today, Warner Bros. Pictures dropped the third trailer for the highly anticipated DC movie, ‘The Batman’, on multiple social media platforms. Titled, ‘The Bat and The Cat’, the trailer has revealed a lot more of the plot in this trailer than in the previous two, with the promo primarily focusing on three characters – Batman, Catwoman and The Riddler. Many die-hard fans should have noticed a lot of Easter Eggs and references in this trailer. However, this promotional video has revealed a few portions of the plot – so here are three things that we noted in it:
A Broody Bruce Wayne
Unlike the recent adaptations of Bruce Wayne, this rich vigilante is broody, both in and out of the mask. According to the synopsis, Bruce Wayne has been fighting crime only for a year and it looks like he has been neglecting his social obligations for some time now. While his work as the caped crusader seems to be going well, his inaction as Bruce Wayne will have likely have consequences.
A Slew of Riddles
Finally! While many seem to appreciate Jim Carry’s funnier portrayal of the DC villain – we know for sure that we are getting a more serious villain this time around. The best part – this trailer has revealed a couple of good riddles already. It will be interesting to see Batman doing some actual investigating on screen and hopefully, we will have an interesting on-screen interaction between the Dark Knight and Riddler.
The Bat & The Cat
This should be good. We have had two actresses portray the cat burglar onscreen in a live-action film already – so it will be interesting to see what Zoe Kravitz will bring to the role. The actress looks the part already and the few dialogues we have heard her say has been brilliant so far.
The Batman will premiere in theatres around the globe next year, on March 4th 2022.
