Netflix has begun filming the sequels to its controversial erotic film, 356 Days – not just one sequel, but its subsequent part too. 365 Days Part 2 and Part 3 are in the production phase, with most of the primary cast and crew returning for the sequels. Netflix has decided to go ahead with the sequels despite the flak that the original 365 Days received. Cocking a snoock at naysayers, 365 Days, aka 365 Dni in its original Polish avatar, is well and truly on its way to releasing Part 2 on Netflix next year.
The Polish language film, touted as Poland’s Fifty Shades Of Grey, stirred up a hornet’s nest on social media – both with its explicit and steamy sex scenes, and its dubious plot device. Netflix users slammed the movie for romanticizing the ‘Stockholm Syndrome’, a state, predominantly psychological, in which the kidnapped develops affection for or falls in love with their kidnapper. A lot of people demanded that 365 Days be pulled down and banned from Netflix.
Despite the flak, 365 Days, with its bordering-on-porn erotica, was a massive hit on Netflix. It spent considerable time in the Netflix Top Ten charts across the world, some of it at the number one spot. The raunchy film, stuffed with steamy content, has become a permanent fixture in the list of Top Ten films on Netflix India.
Coming to the cast, there’s a hot new addition to the cast for 365 Days Part 2 and 3 – sexy model and actor, Simone Susinna. He will play new character Nacho. Some would say he’s hotter than the smoking hot leading man of the original film, 365 Days, Michele Morrone. Morrone returns in 365 Days 2 & 3 to reprise his role of Massimo, a romantically inclined sicilian mafia don. Put together, the two are bound to raise the hotness quotient of the sequels even higher.
Leading lady Anna-Maria Sieklucka and Magdalena Lamparska are also returning to reprise their roles in the sequels. Barbara Białowąs and Tomasz Mandes also return to as directors of the films.
As per the synopsis of the upcoming film, Nacho will do anything to seduce Laura and win her heart. Needless to say, fans of the film can expect the steamy scenes and hot sex to continue in 365 Days 2 & 3, given the Greek God looks of Simone Susinna, the actor who will portray Nacho.
Interestingly, while 365 Days was a film that had been acquired by Netflix from its Polish makers, 365 Days 2 and 365 Days 3 will be made as Netflix Originals. We may expect Netflix to rein in some of the dubious bits about the screenplay, and, maybe, the sex. 365 Days and its upcoming sequels are adaptations of Blanka Lipińska 365 Dni trilogy, Poland’s equivalent of Fifty Shades Of Grey.
