The highly-anticipated limited series, ‘Nine Perfect Strangers’ will premiere this weekend on Amazon Prime Video, in India. Be it for the cryptic, chilling trailer or the huge cast of Hollywood heavyweights – whatever the reason may be, we can hardly wait for the series to finally drop. But before we check out the miniseries, here are four things you didn’t know about ‘Nine Perfect Strangers’:
It Started With A Novel
‘Nine Perfect Strangers’ is a limited series that
Is based on the 2018 novel of the same name, written by Australian author, Liane Moriarty. It went onto become a New York Times bestseller and was adapted for television by David E. Kelley and John Henry Butterworth.
Hulu, Not Amazon
This upcoming web series is a Hulu original series. However, since Hulu doesn’t have the International reach of Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon Prime among others, the streaming platform decided to enlist Amazon Prime Video as its international distributor. The series will premiere for the first time, tomorrow, on 18th August 2021 on Hulu, before it releases around the globe on Amazon Prime Video, two days later.
Why Mini-series?
So why is this novel being made into a mini-series instead of a film? Well, one reason is that the story is based around 10 characters, so we guess each and every character will get a detailed backstory. Plus this series has an all-star cast featuring Nicole Kidman, Melissa McCarthy, Manny Jacinto, Asher Keddie, Luke Evans, Melvin Gregg, Samara Weaving, Grace Van Patten, Tiffany Boone, Michael Shannon, Regina Hall and Bobby Cannavale. All these actors will need sufficient screen time.
Multi-Lingual Release
Amazon Prime Video released the trailer for this upcoming miniseries in two languages – Hindi and English. We expect the series to have even more languages available in subtitles as well.
