5 Action Thriller Films to Watch on OTT If You Liked The Gray Man

Netflix action thriller flick ‘The Gray Man’ started streaming on the OTT platform earlier this month. The movie has become quite popular amongst OTT audiences and a sequel, and a spin-off are already in the works. The Man from U.N.C.L.E, 2015 (Streaming on Netflix)

Helmed by Guy Ritchie, the spy film is set against the backdrop of the early 1960s period when the cold war was at its peak. The story revolves around how a CIA agent (Henry Cavill) is forced to team up with a KGB agent (Armie Hammer) in a mission to fight against an international crime organization which is hellbent on disrupting the delicate power balance between USA and Soviet Union.

The Bourne Identity, 2002 (Streaming on Netflix, Amazon Prime Video)

When an unconscious man (Matt Damon) with bullet wounds is rescued by some fishermen, he recovers, but does not remember his identity. However, he soon learns about his incredible combat skills besides his name – Jason Bourne. He makes it his mission to know more about his life while being pursued by deadly assassins. The film was directed by Doug Liman and also featured Franka Potente and Chris Cooper.

Drive, 2011 (Streaming on Lionsgate Play)

Thematically similar to Denzel Washington’s ‘The Equalizer’, the film is about a ‘talented driver’ and Hollywood stuntman (Ryan Gosling) with a mysterious background and a dark past and how his seemingly peaceful life is upturned when he tries to rescue the woman he loves from local gangsters. The movie also features Bryan Cranston and Oscar Isaac in important roles.

Salt, 2010 (Streaming on Aha Video)

Directed by Phillip Noyce, the espionage thriller follows a CIA agent Evelyn Salt (Angelina Jolie), who becomes a fugitive after she is accused of being a Russian spy with a mission to assassinate the President. Now, Salt must race against time and use all the skills she had acquired over her career to elude capture, prove her innocence and to catch the real culprit.

Memory, 2022 (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video)

Based on a Belgian novel, the film follows an expert assassin (played by Liam Neeson), who himself becomes the target of a dangerous criminal organization after he refuses to complete a job of eliminating a young girl. But the catch is that Neeson’s character struggles with severe memory loss owing to early symptoms of Alzheimer’s. The movie also features Guy Pearce, Monica Bellucci and Taj Atwal and has been directed by Martin Campbell of ‘Casino Royale’ and ‘The Mask of Zorro’ fame.
