Beauty. Cinema is incomplete without the inclusion of beauty. Although the subjectivity of the thing can be as high as 7.4 Billion because there are as many people in the world but there are a few movies whose every frame makes you wanna pause the film.
However, beauty can be used to support the point of the film. Beauty itself can not be the point and we have seen this disaster in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariya. The legendary filmmaker concentrated solely on visuals and he gave the only bad film of his career.
Regardless, we are here to help you suggest 5 films from Bollywood whose every frame is too beautiful to miss, so blink at your own risk!
Veer Zaara (Prime Video)
Yash Chopra is known for his collaborations with Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan. Let’s tell you that the movie has both of them.
The film apart from being romantic is an eye-catching visual. Combined with music, they are precisely the reason the film got the status of EPIC. Even if you watch any song from the movie, you’ll soon realize how much beauty did Chopra stuff in the film.
Preity Zinta’s costumes, Rani Mukerji’s voice, and everything are just too beautiful.
Devdas (Jio Cinema/Voot Select)
The 2002 Devdas was directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. When he is making a film then grandeur, beauty, and a once in a lifetime experience are almost guaranteed. But this was the first film that really defined a Sanjay Leela Bhansali film.
Paro’s bungalow, Dev’s Mansion, Chandramukhi’s Kotha, and every single frame is just a visual extravaganza. The iconic last scene where Paro is running towards Dev sums up how much beauty he can stuff in his sets and he can stuff a lot.
We wish Guzaarish and Black by Bhansali himself were streaming regularly on any OTT platform because we highly recommend those movies too.
Dil Se…(Netflix)
Mani Ratnam is known for showing poetry through his scenes. Dil Se… is undoubtedly one of the best works by the genius filmmaker. We are saying “one of the best” because the filmmaker has reserved Iruvar for his best film.
Regardless, Dil Se… still remains one of the most beautiful, successful, and greatest albums ever made. Thus we recommend you watch Chhaiyaan Chhaiyaan, Dil Se Re, Satrangi Re, or Jiya Jale. You’ll soon understand that the film is one of the most beautiful to be ever made in world cinema.
Bulbbul (Netflix)
Anushka Sharma produced the horror movie Bulbbul. The storyline originates from the folklore of Chudail and what a film it is.
Tripti Dimri and Avinash Tiwari along with Rahul Bose and Paoli Dam lead the cast. They are exceptionally great at their performance but the costumes, the sets, and the overall VFX is so perfect.
It makes you aww at how criminally underrated the film is. But if you haven’t, we recommend you to check out Bulbbul.
Pakeezah (Prime Video)
If you think that the above mentioned films are too beautiful then think again. Because no film comes halfway close to Pakeezah when it comes to beauty.
Right from the first frame to the last one, you might be jaw-dropped at the sheer beauty of the film. Be it Meena Kumari wetting her hair in a fountain or the set of Inhi Logon Ne or even the Indian railways, Kamal Amrohi presents every frame as if it were some beautiful painting.
Even after 50 years of release, the film is unparalleled in music, beauty, grace, aesthetics, and legacy. Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Mira Nair, and many more have tried to imitate some scenes/sets of the movie but Pakeezah remains the OG. We highly recommend watching this movie if you have the patience to carry on with the slow-burn plot.
