The story follows a conman (played by Ranveer Singh) posing as an archaeologist, who falls in love with a Zamindar’s beautiful daughter (played by Sonakshi Sinha). ‘Mirzapur’ actor Vikrant Massey had adeptly essayed the role of Ranveer Singh’s sidekick.
Dabangg, 2010 (Streaming on Netflix)
Helmed by Abhinav Kashyap, the action-comedy film features Salman Khan as a fearless, kind-hearted but crooked cop – Inspector Chulbul Pandey, who calls himself the local Robin Hood. The plotline showcases the cop’s strained relationships with his stepfather (Vinod Khanna), and his stepbrother (Arbaaz Khan), and how he deals with a corrupt politician (Sonu Sood). Sonakshi Sinha was seen in the role of Salman Khan’s romantic interest.
Ittefaq, 2017 (Streaming on Netflix)
Somewhat inspired by Yash Chopra’s 1969 film of the same name, the mystery thriller follows a cop Dev Verma (Akshaye Khanna) who is investigating a double murder case. The only murder witnesses are a successful writer Vikram Sethi (Siddharth Malhotra) and a beautiful but mysterious housewife Maya (Sonakshi Sinha). But they are also the prime suspects in the murder case. The cop must navigate through the web of lies in order to bring the culprit to justice.
Bullet Raja, 2013 (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar)
Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia, the film showcases the journey of a common man Raja Mishra (Saif Ali Khan) and how circumstances force him to become a ruthless gangster in Uttar Pradesh. How he declares a violent war against the flawed system with the help of his best friend (Jimmy Sheirgill) drive the film’s story further. Sonakshi Sinha had played the female lead opposite Saif Ali Khan in the film.
Mission Mangal, 2019 (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar)
Based on true events, the star-studded film revolves around the lives and struggles of a team of scientists who worked on ISRO`s Mars Orbiter Mission (Mangalyaan). Their mission was to achieve the virtually impossible task of launching India’s first interplanetary satellite to Mars and that too with meagre financial resources. The film’s ensemble cast featured Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu, Nithya Menon, Kirti Kulhari, and Sharman Joshi, amongst others.
