Critically and commercially acclaimed Malayalam blockbuster ‘Jana Gana Mana ‘ starring Prithviraj is making waves on Netflix India since the day it dropped. The film released theatrically on 28th April to rave reviews and is directed by Dijo Jose Antony. Anjali Menon’s Koode probably has Prithviraj at his finest and most vulnerable as an actor. The film revolves around a brother (played by Prithviraj) coming to terms with his sister’s (Nazriya) untimely demise. This emotional rollercoaster is an official remake of Marathi film ‘Happy Journey’.

This Ranjith directorial is a crowning jewel in Prithviraj‘s filmography. He also shares screen-space with Veteran actor Thilakan who seals the deal in every frame he is in. The well written satire takes a dig at real estate quick-money mafias.
3) Ennu Ninte Moideen (2015) – Disney+Hotstar
Based on a real life tragic romance, Ennu Ninte Moideen has Prithviraj paired romantically opposite Parvathy for the first time in his career. The film is a must watch and is driven by heart-touching performances from the duo.
4) Mumbai Police (2013) – Disney+Hotstar
You ask any random malayali for a Malayalam Thriller recommendation, they’d mouth ‘Mumbai Police’. Bobby-Sanjay’s screenplay was a revelation of sorts back in the day. Terrific performances from Prithviraj, Rahman and Jayasurya. You’re in for a treat.
5) Memories (2013) – Disney+Hotstar
One of contemporary Malayalam cinema’s finest crime thrillers, Memories has Prithviraj as a drunkard police-officer helming the proceedings of a serial murder case. He gives one of his finest performances as Sam Alex in the film. Memories and Mumbai Police makes for a good double-bill feature
