After an already brilliant cameo in the form of Ayo and the Dora Milaje in the previous two episodes, we are going to get another epic Marvel cameo in episode 5 of Disney+ Hotstar’s ‘The Falcon And The Winter Soldier’. In a conversation with Rotten Tomatoes, the above mentioned MCU miniseries’ creator, Malcolm Spellman, said that “things get real” in episode 5 and we will get the cameo of a very grounded character – unlike the big hitters like Thor. So let’s take a look at the five different Marvel characters who could cameo in the penultimate episode of MCU’s ‘The Falcon And The Winter Soldier’:
Clint Barton (Least Likely)
One of the most grounded characters in the MCU and also an Avenger, Hawkeye has always managed to come out on top against some very tough opponents in the past. Plus he is good at being covert and can make some noise when he needs to. But there is nothing connecting Barton to this current crisis, so there is a less chance that he will appear in this miniseries.
Shuri (Why Not?)
Bucky name-dropped Shuri when he talked to Ayo, saying that both Shuri and Ayo helped him get over his “brain-washing”. Shuri is also a grounded character, but is a bad-ass in her own right and is as smart as (maybe even smarter than) Tony Stark. The name drop does provide an excuse to bring the character, but a better reason for Shuri to come on the show would be to either confront Bucky for helping her father’s killer escape or to confront Zemo himself.
Scott Lang (Maybe)
Sam and Scott already had a run in at the Avengers compound in the first ‘Antman’ film. They also have a rapport of sorts as shown in ‘Captain America: Civil War’ and it would be awesome to see Scott come and kick some ass. And let’s face it, Paul Rudd is always a win.
Colonel James Rhoades (Could Happen)
Rhodey already made a cameo appearance in the very first episode of ‘The Falcon And The Winter Soldier’, but we think that will probably not be the last time we will see him in this miniseries. After John Walker messed up big time at the end of the last episode, now would be the time for Rhodey to step up and get the Shield back to Sam, using his military connections.
Isaiah Bradley (Very Good Chance)
This will not be a cameo, as this character was introduced for the first time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, on this show – but that was just a brief encounter. We wouldn’t be surprised if Isaiah stepped up to help Sam and Bucky kick some “Flag Smasher” ass. There is a good chance he won’t come, but there is a good chance that he will too.
Extra: Old Man Cap (Not Happening)
As much as all of us would like for Steve to come visit Bucky and Sam again for one last time, mainly to help them get their confidence back and move on with their lives, this will just be wishful thinking. It would still be awesome though.
