WandaVision has become one of the most watched Disney+ shows, thanks to its incredible production, storytelling and acting (among other things). Title character, Vision’s portrayer Paul Bethany has confirmed again that a major character from the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be showing up on the Disney+ Hotstar web series. So, today on the eve of the penultimate episode drop, let us check out the top 5 choices to turn up in this brilliant superhero supernatural web series.
Captain Marvel (Least Likely)
Monica Rambeau’s favourite, or least favourite – all things considering, aunt, Aunt Carol AKA Captain Marvel might make an appearance. Maybe. But she is currently off-world, and without a signal, or the trusty pager/ beeper which Nick Fury has, there is no way the one-woman army can make it back in time to help Wanda (and Vision).
Ant-Man (Hmm)
Ok, we know this sounds unlikely, but hear us out. We think something might happen that might cause Agent Woo to call up his buddy Scott Lang AKA Ant-Man, who had previously been kept under house-arrest under Agent Woo (Ant-Man 2). True, Ant-Man doesn’t have much magical powers, but he still has a working rapport with Wanda and will likely listen to Scott if nothing else.
Thor (Why Not?)
There is very less chance that Thor would come on WandaVision as the character is currently off-world. But the character has Stormbreaker, one of the greatest weapons ever created by the “Giant dwarfs” (there’s an oxymoron) of Nidavellir. The weapon can summon the Biforst, which allows the user to travel anywhere in the Universe. Plus, Thor has faced great magical power before and will be able to beat Wanda (maybe), if she loses complete control.
Hawkeye (Could Happen)
The only one in this list with no super-powers or a supersuit, we believe Hawkeye would be the best choice to come and talk to Wanda. He was the first among the Avengers to treat Wanda like another Avenger and has always treated her like his daughter/ younger sister. But he has to be found first. And after the blip, we think Barton might have shifted his family to another location.
Doctor Strange (The Only Real Choice)
The Sorcerer Supreme would be the best choice because of the multiple dimensions involved. Paul Bethany also said that he has always wanted to work with this actor, and we think Benedict Cumberbatch is the actor he was referring to (Plus except for Brie Larson, he has worked with all other members in this list).
Extra: Magneto (Not Happening)
As much as we would love to see Magneto turn up and call Wanda his daughter, we know that will not be happening, as the X-Men are yet to be added in the MCU, and this won’t be Marvel’s way of introducing them into the MCU (we think). Still it is a fun thought to have.
We expect to see the “fireworks cameo” (according to Bethany) happen on 26th February 2021, towards the end of the episode or in a post-credit scene. We can’t wait for WandaVision to drop its 8th episode on Disney+ Hotstar, tomorrow.
