Ek Chalis Ki Last Local (2007)
The comedy crime thriller movie follows the story of a call centre executive Nilesh (Abhay Deol), who meets a beautiful woman Madhu (Neha Dhupia) after both of them miss the last local train at 1:40 AM at Kurla station. Thereafter, the duo visits a bar and the following turn of events changes their lives forever.
Set in the 1920s period, Vikram Bhatt’s well-intentioned directorial follows a newly married couple (Rajneesh Duggal and Adah Sharma) who relocate to an eerie mansion in Palanpur. Soon after, the woman begins to feel a strong supernatural presence in the house and later gets possessed by an evil entity. In order to save his wife from demonic possession, the husband takes the help of an exorcist.
When the leader (Prosenjit Chatterjee) of a campaign against a government project is fatally injured in a road accident, his former pupil (Kalki Koechlin) suspects foul play and teams up with a local video shop employee (Emraan Hashmi) to uncover the truth. Meanwhile, an inquiry is set up to investigate the case led by an upright IAS officer (Abhay Deol). Helmed by Dibakar Banerjee, the political thriller movie also features Supriya Pathak, Farooq Shaikh, and Tillotama Shome.
