Shahrukh Khan is known as the king of Bollywood and romance. He has enjoyed an illustrious career with ups and downs, meteoric fame as well as struggle but through it all, he has always managed to do one thing, and that is cement a place in our hearts.
Shahrukh Khan owns the production house ‘Red Chillies Entertainment’ along with his wife and they have produced a long list of stellar movies that have won a lot of appreciation not only from India but also from different parts of the globe.
Here we shall give you a list of some of the unique films that they have produced which should be on your watchlist if it isn’t already.
Ittefaq:
Ittefaq has got to be one of the most underrated thrillers with a mind-bending storyline that leaves you on the edge of the seat. One murder, two suspects but only one killer. Who is telling the truth and who is creating a web of lies? All of these answers lie at the end of the film. It has a stellar cast of Sidharth Malhotra, Sonakshi Sinha and Akshaye Khanna. There isn’t a dull moment in the plot, and practically nobody could predict the way it ended.
Kaamyaab:
Kaamyaab is the story of a veteran actor who has always been in the shadows of the superstars while only having a few memorable dialogues throughout the years. Sanjay Mishra who plays the veteran actor Sudheer has acted in uncountable roles. When he realises that he is only one away from a prestigious record, he runs helter-skelter to secure any project he can get his hands on. The likes of Sanjay Mishra, Deepak Dobriyal, have given such natural performances that your heart is bound to melt and gain a certain appreciation for them.
Badla:
Badla is a remake of the much-acclaimed ‘The Invisible Guest’ but adapting any classic comes with a different kind of pressure. Still, everything was undertaken perfectly right from the cast to the setting to the storyline. This mystery thriller also has a surprise twist ending which will make you lose your mind. Amitabh Bachchan and Tapsee Pannu play their part to perfection, especially with their dialogue delivery.
My Name Is Khan
My Name Is Khan hits a sentimental chord with the viewers as you learn to sympathize with Rizwan (Shahrukh Khan Himself) who has Asperger’s Syndrome and his life takes a completely different turn when his son is unintentionally murdered, and everyone blames his religion for it. He thus embarks on a journey to meet the president to change the perception of his community.
Dear Zindagi
This is the story of a young, carefree girl, Kaira who spirals into insomnia after she has a series of failed relationships and doesn’t get any emotional support from her family. She then turns to Dr Jehangir Khan (Again Shahrukh khan himself) who uses his unconventional methods to treat her and thus impart valuable life lessons to all its viewers.
We understand that there have been far more successful and entertaining projects that have been created under the banner of Shahrukh Khan’s production house, but this list was created to highlight some of the experimental and cinematic gems that may have flown under the radar for some reason or the other.
