Needless to say, half of 2024 is gone in a blink. Within this period, Netflix India brought us a film as phenomenal as Amar Singh Chamkila and a series as ambitious as Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar.
But Netflix India has still not played its strongest move. Just to let you know, no other Indian platform comes close to Netflix India in that category.
What are we talking about?
Of course documentaries.
Netflix India kills in the category of great documentary series and films. We all know the bone-chilling stories that Netflix India showed us in films like “Curry and Cyanide” and series like “The Hunt for Veerappan”.
But where are the documentaries on Netflix India?
So far in 2024, we have not seen any documentary from Netflix India. It is indeed a turn-off. We have immense respect and fascination for Netflix India documentaries because they are indeed really good.
We have a great promise through “Modern Masters” but that would be like pushing too many documentaries in the last 5 months when they should have strategised the timing better.
It’s high time Netflix reworks them because nobody else knows how to do it right. Also, it is important for Netflix India to play with its strengths. And documentaries are certainly very strong things to provide the audience with.
