Just one more day before we hit Friday (and on to the weekend). As the Covid-19 situation continues to be unstable around the country, one thing we can be sure of is that new content will be dropping for streaming on OTT platforms. And surprisingly, many movies and TV shows are making their OTT debuts tomorrow AKA the weekend. So here are 6 among them that you should check out:
Mrs & Mr Shameem
Various Indian film industries have been making content based on bold ideas and stories and this upcoming TV series is one such show. The 20-episode web series will follow an unconventional couple – an effeminate man and a woman. Their marriage is one of convenience, but their years of friendship will help them through troubling times. Check out the show when it drops on ZEE5.
Clap
This bilingual sports drama follows a former national-level sprinter who is waiting away after an accident that left him an amputee. He finds his fire again when he starts to train a young woman for nationals. This movie will premiere for streaming on SonyLIV.
Turning Red
The only animated feature in this list, this Pixar-Disney collaboration is expected to be a funny, coming-of-age feature film. We follow a 13-year old Chinese-Candian student, Meilin “Mei” Lee. One day, she discovers, to her horror, that whenever she gets too excited or stressed, she turns into a giant red panda. Check out this movie when it streams in Disney+ Hotstar.
Qubool Hai
Qubool Hai is an Aha original web series that portrays real-life events surrounding child brides and child trafficking. The story follows a poor father who sells his daughter to a rich Arab for “marriage”. The show is set in Talabkatta, an old city in Hyderabad. As these shady events happen, we also see police officers investigating about the whole operation. Stream the web series in the above-mentioned OTT platform.
The Adam Project
The final two projects (on this list) were always going to make it here (AKA the list). The first one is because of its near-daily promotion (as well as Ryan Reynolds) and the second one because of Dhanush. This original film is a sci-fi action thriller, where an older Adam Reed travels back in time to meet his younger self and his father to stop time travel from ever being invented. Stream this movie when it premiers on Netflix.
Maaran
This Tamil political thriller follows an investigative journalist, Mathi Maaran, who is played by Dhanush. Maaran‘s life turns upside down when he exposes hardcore truths about a corrupt politician, Pazhani, in his latest article.
