Unlike the previous two weeks on OTT, which were basically dull, this week looks promising. There are some highly buzzed-about films and series that you may want to consider. Here are the confirmed OTT releases of this week so far.
Let’s start with Blood of Zeus, which is back for its third and final season on Netflix from May 8th. If you love Greek gods, epic battles, and wild family drama, this animated series delivers all that and more. Heron, the demigod son of Zeus, is right in the middle of chaos as the Titans are on the loose and Kronos is making a terrifying return. There’s thunder, betrayal, and some big secrets that could change everything about how the gods rule. It’s bold, fast-paced, and packed with action.
Now for something more serious, A Deadly American Marriage is a chilling watch. Also airing on Netflix from the 9th of May, this true crime story follows how a love story between an Irish widower and his American au pair turned into a nightmare. In 2015, Jason was found murdered in North Carolina. His wife, Molly Martens and her father, a former FBI agent, were behind it. The documentary shares interviews with the people involved, including Jason’s kids and lawyers, making it sensational.
Over on Zee5, there’s a Bengali thriller that’s hard to miss. Based on real-life bank heists in West Bengal, Bohurupi follows Bikram, a jute mill worker who was wrongly jailed. After getting out, he becomes a clever master of disguise and starts pulling off daring bank robberies. With a tough cop hot on his trail, the story turns into a thrilling game of cat and mouse.To stream from May 9th.
If you’re in the mood for something heartfelt, head over to Prime Video for a small-town doctor’s story. Gram Chikitsalay follows Dr. Prabhat, a young doctor sent to a remote village to fix up a run-down health centre. It’s not easy. He faces a lot of red tape, untrusting locals, and plenty of roadblocks. But it’s also a story of hope and how one person can make a big difference. Tune into Prime Video when it starts streaming on the 9th of May.
John Abraham fans will want to check out The Diplomat on Netflix when its available from the 9th of May. He plays a diplomat trying to rescue an Indian woman trapped in Pakistan after a forced marriage. It’s inspired by true events and shows the tense, behind-the-scenes world of international diplomacy. A gripping story with real emotions.
Finally, there’s The Royals, also on Netflix, for those who enjoy romance with a royal twist. A modern-day prince and a tech CEO come together to save an old palace and maybe fall in love while they’re at it. It’s fun, stylish, and full of heart. With a star-studded cast consisting of the likes of Ishaan Khatter and Bhumi Pednekar in the central roles, The Royals airs from May 9th.
