This weekend, we are going for a different type of listicle – a list filled with brilliant films that are not available for viewing in India. This may be because either major OTT platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Disney+ does not have the film available in the Indian library or other platforms such as HBOMax, Hulu, Peacock, etc. have these movies in their extensive International libraries, but the digital platforms are not available in India yet. So, this list is to let these streaming platforms know that we are waiting for these films. So without wasting any more time, here are 7 popular films currently not streaming in India:
Gunpowder Milkshake
A surprising film to start this list, especially for a 2021 Netflix release. A dangerous assassin reunites with her mother and her lethal associates to protect an 8-year-old girl and take down a ruthless crime syndicate.
Hitman’s Bodyguard
This movie has its streaming rights shared between both Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. Michael Bryce, a protection agent, is tasked with protecting Darius Kincaid, one of the world’s most famous assassins, who is testifying against a crime lord. The two must set aside their animosity to tackle several dangerous henchmen sent by the man that Kincaid is testifying against.
Black Widow
While we know this movie is coming to India soon, we want Disney+ Hotstar to hurry up and release the movie already. The film follows Natasha Romanoff AKA The Black Widow must deal with her history as a Russian spy, and the broken relationships she left behind before she became an Avenger.
Snowpiercer
While the new web series is streaming on Netflix, the 2013 film which was released prior is not available for viewing in India. Earth’s second Ice Age is rampaging in this dystopian future, where the surviving human race lives out their days on a luxury train that ploughs through the snow and ice. The train’s poorest residents, who live in the back of the train in bad conditions, plan to improve their lives by taking over the engine room.
Superbad
Jonah Hill. Emma Stone. Mclovin. Need we say more? The travesty is this brilliant coming of age comedy film is not available in the Indian library of Netflix. Two high school boys want to enjoy their lives to the fullest before they go off to different colleges. Unfortunately, their exaggerated plans for a high school party lands them in trouble.
Knives Out
Another brilliant film that is not available for streaming in India. Come on Amazon Prime?! The novelist Harlan Thrombey dies in mysterious circumstances, so the renowned Detective Benoit Blanc is called to investigate the murder. While interviewing Thrombey’s family, he realises that the murderer is a family member. He has to sift through a web of lies to uncover the truth.
Leon: The Professional
The oldest film on this list, not any less popular, however. The movie is streaming in different parts of the globe on Netflix, just not in India. Leon, a professional assassin, reluctantly takes a 12-year old girl under his wing and teaches her the secrets of his trade.
We ask Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney Plus to hurry up and upload these films in their Indian libraries.
