Khel Khel Mein starring multiple big names like Akshay Kumar, Taapsee Pannu, Vaani Kapoor, Fardin Khan etc. is set to be released on 15th of August 2024. The day will be very important for the film industry as many big and small movies will be launching on the same day. Recently the advanced ticket booking stats were released for the films and it seems the expected movie Stree 2 is winning the race in terms of Hindi movies with more than 5 crores of revenue and about 1.5 lacs of ticket sales. Khel Khel Mein, with its star studded cast and good plot seemed to be the next movie in the list, but as of now there is a uge disappointment for the movie in terms of ticket sales.
As of now, Khel Khel Mein received a revenue of about 10 lacs with 3200 ticket sales. Vedaa surpassed the movie with almost twice the figures of about 17 lacs of revenue off 6500 ticket sales. This news came as a shocker as no one expected Khel Khel Mein lagging so behind. It seems the cast that is filled with big names couldn’t do any good for the movie whereas Vedaa pulled off the second spot with only John Abraham. This is disappointing for the stars as well, as they could not even convince their own fans for the movie, especially Akshay Kumar, one of the biggest names of the industry right now, but who is constantly failing in making a good revenue in the box office.
The movie has an estimated budget of over 100 crores. And when we look at the ticket sales, it becomes quite disappointing as the revenue only accounts for 0.1% of the budget. Most of the money was spent on the actors, especially Akshay Kumar, but this expenditure seems futile now. The movie could have pulled off the same results with smaller names as well. This would have ensured a profit for the producers as well. Now, with such a huge budget, and this saddening result, the producers can hardly expect any profit, let alone be the movie getting hit.
Khel Khel Mein proved to be a huge disappointment for the creators even before is release. And, considering the audience already have quite good options to watch, it hardly seems that the movie will earn any profit. Though one cannot predict the circumstances when the content of the movie will be so well liked by the audience that it will boost the ticket sales resulting in a profit.
