Ever since the widespread internet and social media access, words have become cheap. One could use any adjective of their choice without understanding the depth or shallowness of the word.
Just take the word “masterpiece”. It has been so overused in the last few years that it hardly retains any weight. Also, a masterpiece is a very vague word. It doesn’t reflect which piece of the film/series has been done masterfully.
Very consciously, we are saying that Barzakh is a visual masterpiece. The Pakistani series is streaming free on YouTube and the reviews are great. The series stars Fawad Khan and Sanam Saeed in the lead roles. The series is created by Asim Abbasi and the visuals are breathtaking.
The reviews of the first episode are really promising but to credit the entire show will be a little too much. Thus, let’s talk about the most visible factor of the show which is visuals.
Without the extravagance of Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar or the VFX of Brahmastra, the series captures your attention. It takes us back to the Stanley Kubrick school of visuals that solely relied on natural things used in a highly creative manner.
