The voice cast for the English version of Hayao Miyazaki’s latest film has been announced. The film is titled ‘The Boy and The Heron’ and it is produced by Studio Ghibli, the studio founded by Miyazaki.
As per the announcement, the cast includes Christian Bale in the role of Shoichi Maki, Dave Bautista as the Parakeet King, Gemma Chan as Natsuko. Willem Dafoe, Florence Pugh, Robert Pattinson and Mark Hamill in other important roles. Mahito Maki, the protagonist, is played by Luca Padovan.
‘The Boy And The Heron’ had its theatrical release in Japan in July this year and it was a big hit. The movie is going to release in Japanese and English on the 8th of December in North America and there is huge anticipation regarding this movie. Hayao Miyazaki is considered to be a living legend and his films have an impactful history. ‘The Boy and The Heron’ is the first film of the maestro in almost a decade.
The Boy And The Heron tells the story of a young boy who leaves the town after his mother dies. But when he is told by a talking Heron that his mother is alive, he leaves everything in her pursuit and finds a whole different world.
A cast with such talented actors has already kindled up the excitement, and it will definitely attract more audiences. Willem Dafoe and Pattinson will be working together again after ‘The Lighthouse’, and there will be two Batmen with Bale and Pattinson voicing in the movie.
