Fan favourite and one of Netflix‘s top shows ‘Stranger Things’ is just three days away from the release of its season 4 volume 1. The buzz around this keeps going up with each passing day, be it the poster reveal or the trailer release. Now, there’s a board game involved too! Yes, you read it right.
Well, somebody tried to leverage the hype around the most awaited release and launched a ‘Stranger Things‘ themed Monopoly game. Considering the huge volume of ‘Stranger Things’ fans, this stunt should have left them excited, right? Wrong! The board game gives spoilers about the upcoming episodes!
This was not a part of the promotion strategy. As per reports, The Duffer Brothers had a ‘total meltdown’ when news of the Monopoly game reached them. They feel they would have definitely stopped this from happening if they were consulted before the product launch.
Photos of cards are being circulated on Reddit and Twitter and fans are really not okay with the spoilers. The Duffer Brothers were further upset because this season has been the most challenging so far and took nearly two years to film. This shouldn’t have happened to their hard work.
