Nuhash Humayun is definitely a master of horror short films. From being backed by Riz Ahmed and Jordan Peele, to giving Bangladesh multiple international standard projects, he has done wonders in the industry. Here is an anthology series from him that you should not miss at any cost.
‘Pet Kata Shaw’ has well crafted four stories with wonderful actors that deal with the traditional folk stories of ghosts. It came out in 2022 and is written and directed by Humayun. There are only four episodes in the show and the show is available to watch on the Bangladeshi streaming platform Chorki.
The four stories deal with different types of ghosts and will give you different kinds of feelings. ‘Ei Building E Meye Nishedh’ starring Shohel Mondal tells the story of a ghost who loves fish. ‘Misti Kichhu’ starring the legendary Chanchal Choudhury is about the nostalgic story of Djinns being attracted to sweetmeats. ‘Nishir Daak’ tells the story of disappearing children who get called by an unavoidable voice from the sea. And the final story ‘Loke Bole’ is the culmination of all the stories, the story of an island where all these folk stories are made and combined.
If you are a fan of anthologies, this is a show that is going to blow your mind. Watch it for wonderful performances, and unexpected surprises all along the show. ‘Pet Kata Shaw’ is available to watch on the streaming platform ‘Chorki’.
