British actor and rapper Rizwan Ahmed is the recipient of several coveted accolades, including an Academy Award and a Primetime Emmy Award with nominations for the Golden Globe and two British Academy Film Awards. He was recently seen in the dramatic short film ‘Dammi’, and Apple TV+’s romantic sci-fi ‘Fingernails’.
Next up for Ahmed seems to be a comedy series for Amazon MGM Studios! The series follows Shah Latif, a struggling actor on the cusp of landing the role of a lifetime! However, he soon finds himself thrust into a full-blown existential crisis in the thick of the could-be. The yet-untitled half-hour show soon develops into a trippy conspiracy thriller all at the same time.
The project, Ahmed’s first TV role since he bagged an Emmy for HBO’s ‘The Night Of’, comes following the recent production of a Channel 4 documentary series about British Asian history and Wes Anderson’s new movie! The versatile actor has since been nominated for an Oscar for Amazon’s rivetingly surreal ‘Sound of Metal’, in which he played a drummer who suddenly loses his hearing.
Not only will he star in the show as one of the main leads, but will also write and produce the project!
