As per media reports, a multi-language documentary on the T-20 World Cup is under development. The title of the show is not yet announced.
UK based production company One One Six Network will be producing the series and filmmaker Anand Kumar is helming the project. He has previously directed films like ‘Delhii Heights’ and ‘Zila Ghaziabad’. It is written by Saurabh M. Pandey who is well known for writing the scripts of films like ‘The Tashkent Files’, ‘The Kashmir Files’ etc.
The story of the victory of India in the first Twenty Twenty World Cup is truly cinematic and the story continues to inspire fans till now. Mahendra Singh Dhoni led Team India defeated the strong team of Australia in the Semifinals and then faced Pakistan in finals. Team India won by 5 runs and Irfan Pathan got the award of Man Of The Match. Pakistani player Shahid Afridi got the award of Man Of The Series. The documentary will explore every player and situation during the series in detail.
15 cricketers will be featured in the documentary series. There is no doubt the star players like M S Dhoni, Yuvraj Singh, Gautam Gambhir, Sehwag, Rohit Sharma and Dinesh Kartik will obviously there. It is not sure whether Sreesanth will be there or not.
An A-list Bollywood will also be involved with the project but it is not yet known who that will be. Two thirds shooting of the show is complete and it is slated to release in 2023.
