“A Quiet Place: Day One” First Reactions Sing Praises For Michael Sarnoski’s Film

The first reactions to Michael Sarnoski’s “A Quiet Place: Day One” have surfaced online. Serving as a prequel to the first film (2018), Day One follows Sam (Lupita Nyong’o), a terminally ill cancer patient who finds herself amidst the early stages of a destructive invasion in NYC by blind extraterrestrial creatures that possess an acute sense of hearing. As the story progresses, we will see her reluctantly teaming up with another survivor, Eric (Joseph Quinn). These two have to adapt quickly to survive in this new environment where the slightest noise can take your life.

Early reactions to the upcoming “A Quiet Place” prequel are highly positive, with critics praising the performances of its leading duo, Lupita Nyong’o and Joseph Quinn. The film’s suspenseful moments and Sarnoski’s direction have also garnered acclaim. Notably, the director focuses more on the alien-free scenes of humanity, strengthening the bond between Eric and Sam. While Quinn’s screen time is naturally less than Nyong’o’s in this prequel, he shows great on-screen chemistry with the Academy Award-winning actress.

On Rotten Tomatoes, Day One currently stands with a ‘fresh’ critic score of 91% based on 35 certified reviews.

“A Quiet Place: Day One” also has talents like Alex Woff, Djimon Hounsou, and Eliane Umuhire. Hounsou reprises his role as Henri from Part II (2020) in this prequel project. The movie will be released on June 28. Stay tuned for more updates. Read some of the first reactions to the movie below!
