The first sneak-peek look at the third instalment of ‘A Quiet Place’ film series titled ‘A Quiet Place: Day One’ was just showcased at the ongoing CinemaCon 2023 annual movie theatre trade show in Las Vegas. And the eerie footage revealed by actor-filmmaker John Krasinski from the upcoming spinoff apparently scared the hell out of the audiences from the event.
For the unversed, John Krasinski had helmed and co-starred in both editions of the critically and commercially successful horror flicks ‘A Quiet Place’ and its sequel ‘A Quiet Place Part II’.
Until now, nothing concrete was known about the plot of ‘A Quiet Place: Day One’. But thanks to John Krasinski, we now have a basic idea about the film’s story. As the title also suggests, the spin-off / prequel focuses on the origin of the post-apocalyptic universe shown in the first two films.
Unlike the first two films which focused on the Abbott family (played by Emily Blunt and John Krasinski), the underlying plot of ‘A Quiet Place: Day One’ is set in New York and revolves around the character played by Lupita Nyong’o (Black Panther, Us). Her character takes centre stage when the killer blind creatures invaded Earth for the first time in New York.
The teaser of ‘A Quiet Place: Day One’ showcased at CinemaCon follows Lupita’s character roaming around the streets of Manhattan just after the alien attack. It also shows how helpless people are desperately running around and hiding from the deadly alien creatures but most of them fall prey to the terrifying monsters.
‘A Quiet Place: Day One’ is set to release in theatres on 8th March 2024. It just wrapped production around two weeks back. The movie has been directed by Michael Sarnoski, who made his directorial debut with the critically acclaimed film ‘Pig’ starring Nicolas Cage. Other than ‘A Quiet Place: Day One’, a sequel ‘A Quiet Place: Part III’ is slated to release in 2025.
