As per media reports, there will soon be a sequel to the horror comedy ‘Bhoot Police’. The film came out in 2021 and starred actors like Saif Ali Khan, Yami Gautam, Arjun Kapoor, Javed Jaffery and Jacqueline Fernandez.
The screenplay for the movie was written by Pavan Kirpalani, Sumit Batheja, Pooja Ladha Surti and it was directed by Pavan Kirpalini himself. The crew and cast might return for the sequel as well. Reportedly, the shooting is in the works now and it will be on floors very soon.
Bhoot Police told the story of two fake ghostbusters who come to a remote village after being invited to hunt down a demonic spirit. In the haunted house, however, they find out that there is something serious in this case. The movie was quite funny and appreciated for its gags and acted as a tribute to many classic films. The sequel will hopefully be better than the first one.
Bhoot Police was produced by Akshay Puri under the banner of his production house ’12th Street Entertainment’. The production house is currently busy with the promotions of the new Netflix original Jaane Jaan that stars Kareena Kapoor, Vijay Verma and Jaydeep Ahlawat.
Horror comedies are not working very well in the box office now and there are many flops in the genre with very few exceptions. There has to be something truly unique for the film to work otherwise audiences are going to reject the film like they did with so many other titles.
