‘A Time To Kill’ came out in 1986 and is adapted from the novel of the same name by John Grisham. The screenplay was written by Akiva Goldsman and it was directed by John Schumacher. The film is available to watch on Amazon Prime Video.
The film tells the story of revenge and the keeping of law and order. When the ten year old daughter of a black guy named Carl gets raped by two people, Carl decides to take revenge by murdering them. Carl had previously tried to go by the law and punish the offenders but did not have much faith in the process and Tyler had said the rapists would walk free. After he finds himself in deep waters and gets arrested, he seeks help from his lawyer friend Jake Tyler.
With a massive star cast the film has actors like Sandra Bullock, Samuel L. Jackson, Matthew McConaughey, Kevin Spacey, Brenda Fricker, Oliver Platt, Charles S. Dutton and many others. The big names associated with the film is enough reason to watch it. It has some amazing performances. Matthew McConaughey is brilliant as usual. Sandra and Samuel L. Jackson too are pretty good.
If you are a fan of legal dramas, this is the film you are looking for and this is the film no one is talking about. The wonderful cinematography is handled by Peter Menzies Jr. And the music for the film is given by Elliot Goldenthal. It is overall a nice weekend watch. Watch it on Amazon Prime Video.
