In the upcoming Cannes Film Festival, A24 got the rights to Oscar winner Paolo Sorrentino’s latest movie “Parthenope”, featuring Gary Oldman.
Having tons of Italian tints and hues, the movie has the vibes of a sweet summer in Italy, where the character of Parthenope tries to manage her life, in order to find love she gets engulfed by the lust for life. The movie is Inspired by the Greek myth of the siren who gave her life in the sea after she failed to seduce Ulysses with her voice.
A24 describes the film as a “monumental and deeply romantic story of a lifetime.”
“Parthenope” is an Italian-French co-production and was shot in both Naples and Capri. Because, the main character is born in the sea of Naples in the 1950s.
The producers are Lorenzo Mieli for The Apartment Pictures, a Fremantle Company, Anthony Vaccarello for Saint Laurent, Paolo Sorrentino for Numero 10, and Ardavan Safaee for Pathé. As all of these producing houses are connected with this movie .
