“What kind of American are you?”
The question was posed as the trailer entered the second half of its runtime, and it came to a very relevant question. Keeping modern political contexts in mind, this comes out as a ‘relevant’ question for any nation as A24 comes up with a thought-provoking trailer, once again.
A24’s quest for a near dystopian future continues as they cook a delicious action recipe and name it ‘Civil War.’
The trailer lets us dive deep into the near future as several American states engage themselves in war.
The trailer depicts U.S. chaos with scenes of destruction and civil war reports. A radio announcement reveals 19 states seceded. President Offerman acknowledges a major defeat for Western forces. The intense narrative sets the stage for a gripping portrayal of a nation in turmoil.
Alex Garland directs and writes “Civil War,” produced by A24, Gregory Goodman, and DNA’s Andrew Macdonald. Garland, known for “Ex Machina” and “Annihilation,” earned an Oscar nomination for the former.
A24 previously released his film “Men” in 2022. The cast includes Jessie Buckley and Rory Kinnear, with Goodman’s notable producing credits including “Three Kings” and “Captain Phillips.” DNA collaborated with Garland on multiple projects.
The film will hit US theaters on April 26, and if this interests you, click below to watch the trailer –
