A24 has unveiled a brand new trailer for Love Lies Bleeding, a Rose Glass directional starring Kristen Stewart and Katy O’Brian. The latest clip is a significant improvement from the first trailer that came out a month ago. The newest trailer is steamier and more violent than the first one. Maybe the time has come to turn on a fan because things are about to get hot, thanks to the upcoming A24 project.
The trailer opens with Jackie (Katy O’Brian) and Lou (Kristen Stewart) catching each other’s eyes at a gym. However, the trailer’s rom-com tone suddenly takes a more serious form after the arrival of Ed Harris’ Lou Sr., who looks wicked and creepy. When Jackie asks Lou about working for the latter’s dad, Lou advises her to stay away from him. “Well, he’s psycho,” Lou adds. As the clip moves forward, we see more of Lou’s criminal family.
Love Lies Bleeding revolves around the lovebirds Jackie and Lou. The former is an ambitious bodybuilder who comes to Vegas to achieve her dreams. On the other hand, we have Lou, a shy and reclusive gym manager, who falls hard for Jackie. As their love story progresses, we see elements of violence slowly integrating into their lives, thanks to Lou Sr.
A24 and Film4 jointly produced Love Lies Bleeding. The film is Rose Glass’ second feature directional after Saint Maud (2019). It also premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, where it opened with critical acclaim. At present, it has a ‘fresh’ rating of 91% on Rotten Tomatoes (based on 32 reviews).
