A24’s Tuesday Trailer: Julia Louis-Dreyfus Meets Death

A24 has dropped an emotionally charged and heart-touching trailer for Tuesday, a fantasy drama starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Lola Petticrew in the leading roles.

The film premiered at the 50th Telluride Film Festival in 2023. In addition, it was screened at the BFI London Film Festival that year.

Tuesday revolves around the mother-daughter duo of Zora (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) and Tuesday (Lola Petticrew). The latter is a terminally ill teenage girl who lives under the care of her mother. The trailer opens with Zora and Tuesday having a healthy and joyful discussion about Tinder and flirting. We also see Zora bathing her only child and taking care of her however she can. Out of nowhere, we see a red parrot flying in the sky. That parrot soon becomes an integral part of their lives. As the trailer moves forward, we realise that the parrot symbolises death. He arrives in their lives to prepare Zora to let go of her child. She must learn to make peace with her daughter’s departure from the world.

A24 announced Tuesday back in 2021. The fantasy drama marks the feature directional debut of Daina Oniunas-Pusic. She has also written the film’s story.

Besides Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Lola Petticrew, Tuesday also has Arinzé Kene as the parrot’s voice (Death). A24 has not yet revealed the film’s release date. Stay tuned for more updates. Check out the trailer below!
