Aa Ammayi Gurinchi Meeku Cheppali has arrived on OTT within three weeks of its theatrical release. The Sudheer Babu and Krithi Shetty starrer is now streaming exclusively on Amazon Prime Video. It hit the theatres on September 16.
This film is the third collaboration between Babu and director Mohana Krishna Indraganti after Sammohanam (2018) and V (2020). The latter was the first mainstream Telugu movie to get an OTT release.
Poor theatrical performance and critical reception must have forced the makers to go for an early digital release. The lack of freshness, tonal inconsistency, and performances of the leading duo received heavy criticism.
The film’s story revolves around a talented filmmaker, Naveen (Babu) and an ophthalmologist Dr Alekhya (Shetty). The latter’s family hates cinema. They hate talking about movies. However, Naveen wants Alekhya to come on board for his next project as the leading lady. Why Alekhya’s family hates the world of cinema so much? Will Naveen be able to convince her to join his film? Watch the movie to find out!
Fans will see Sudheer Babu in Hunt (remake of Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Mumbai Police), Mama Mascheendra, and the untitled Pullela Gopichand biopic. The last one will be shot simultaneously in Hindi as well. On the other hand, Shetty is currently busy filming an untitled Venkat Prabhu film and Vanangaan.
