Aaron Pierre Joins Mahershala Ali in Marvel Studios’ ‘Blade’ Reboot

It was just a month back that we had apprised our readers about ‘Game of Thrones’ actor Kit Harrington’s speculated return in ‘Blade’ reboot movie by reprising his role of Dane Whitman (as Black Knight) which he had essayed in the star-studded Marvel superhero movie ‘Eternals’.

In another casting update for the film, it’s been reportedly confirmed that English actor Aaron Pierre has joined the cast of the new ‘Blade’ movie. Details regarding what character Aaron Pierre would be playing in the new ‘Blade’ reboot movie are not yet confirmed though.

Aaron Pierre is known for his roles in ‘Krypton’ TV series, Amazon Prime Video’s historical drama limited series ‘The Underground Railroad’, and M. Night Shyamalan’s directorial ‘Old’, amongst others. The 27-year-old South London-born actor’s forthcoming acting projects include a family drama film ‘Brother’, a science fiction thriller flick titled ‘Foe’, ‘Lion King’ prequel, and the upcoming thriller movie ‘Rebel Ridge’.

The new ‘Blade’ reboot is set in Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and Bassam Tariq was roped in to direct the film. The superhero movie will feature two times Academy Award-winning actor Mahershala Ali (Moonlight, Green Book), who will essay the titular role of the vampire hunter, originally portrayed by Wesley Snipes in the Blade films trilogy (1998-2004). Mahershala Ali’s earlier acting credits include ‘The Hunger Games’, ‘House of Cards’, ‘True Detective’, and ‘Luke Cage’, amongst others.

For the unversed, Blade is a popular Marvel Comics character created by Mark Wolfman and Gene Colan. He was portrayed in the comic books as the vampire hunter whose mission was to eliminate all the vampires that existed in the world.

The live-action 1998 hit film ‘Blade’ featured Wesley Snipes in the lead role as a revenge-seeking half-vampire half-human whose mother had died of a vampire bite.
