Critically raved Malayalam language Film ‘Aavasavyuham‘ that won accolades like ‘Best Film’ award at Kerala State Film Awards, FIPRESCI and NETPAC awards at 26th IFFK etc will finally be available on streaming. SonyLIV had bagged the streaming rights of the film and it will stream on the platform worldwide from August 5th!

Krishand directed and produced Aavasavyuham, a rashomon-esque documentary feature film about a mystical man named Joy. Throughout the film, his identity is concealed and the film is carved as a hunt for a rare amphibian species, i.e Joy himself aka the Frog-man. Aavasavyuham is based on a beautiful isle surrounded by mangroves called Puthuvype. With strong analogies in writing and a documentary like treatment, Krishand has made a statement with the movie regarding the man-animal conflict.

According to the makers The Frog Man prosthetics were inspired from the movie ‘Creature from the Black Lagoon’. Cinematography of Avasa Vyooham is done by Vishnu Prabhakar and Ajmal Hasbulla composes the music. Nileen Sandra, Geethi Sangeetha and Zhinz Shan co-star Rahul Rajagopal who plays Joy in the film. Aavasavyuham is one magical fantasy striding roads of realism and surrealism that would remind one of Kazansky’s Amphibian Man (1962) and Guillermo del Toro’s The Shape of Water (2017) in the message it tries to convey.
