Abundantia Entertainment To Adapt Hit Israeli Drama ‘The Hood’ For India

Abundantia Entertainment has teamed up with Israeli production house Ananey Studios for the Indian remake of the hit Israeli live action young adult drama ‘The Hood’.

Indian version of ‘The Hood’ will be bankrolled under Abundantia’s teen drama special branch “Filters”, just like its “Psych” label that works on horror and paranormal themed projects. The original Israeli version is created by Giora Chamizer and has had three successful seasons till now.

Set in a small zone resided by low income families that falls in the midst of one of the richest districts, ‘The Hood’ follows a group of teens from blue collar families who regularly prank the rich snobbish kids their age. But the real threat for ‘The Hood’ comes from the Mayor who wants to eliminate the poor community altogether.

While the cast and crew for the show are still to be unveiled, ‘The Hood’ might make its way to Prime Video India similar to some of the previous Abundantia Entertainment projects like ‘Breathe’ season 1 and 2 and the already announced upcoming works like ‘The Hush’ and ‘The End’, marking the digital debut of Juhi Chawla and Akshay Kumar respectively.

Under its “Filter” label, Abundantia Entertainment has two other ongoing projects announced earlier. One is the Indian remake of another hit Israeli thriller drama ‘The Missing’ for which it has joined hands with ADD Content and the same was declared back in 2019. The other is the adaptation of Apeksha Rao’s YA book ‘Along Came A Spyder’ that was announced last year.

Sharing the news for ‘The Hood’ with a video on social media Abundantia Entertainment wrote,

“Super excited and proud to team up with #AnaneyStudios to produce the Indian remake of the smash hit Israeli young adult show, #TheHood.

Watch out! The kids from the hood are coming to shake things up! 😉
