Acclaimed New Netflix Original War Drama Not Streaming In India

Netflix has just premiered its highly acclaimed World War II drama film ‘Operation Mincemeat‘ on its platform. The movie is based on an incredible true story from 1943, when British naval intelligence officers devised an ingenious plan, nicknamed ‘Operation Mincemeat’, to dupe the Nazis and keep the Allied invasion of Sicily a secret. The film released in select theatres on April 15, 2022. It is now streaming on Netflix. But alas, Netflix has streaming rights for ‘Operation Mincemeat’ only for the USA and Latin America.

This effectively means that we in India have been deprived of the chance to watch the gripping war and spy drama. It’s a known fact that the spy thriller genre is one that we Indians love the most. So the non-availability of Operation Mincemeat on Netflix India is doubly saddening.

Looks like Indians will have to wait for Operation Mincemeat to arrive on pay-per-view on Prime Video, Bookmyshow Stream or some such platform, if they wish to watch the film. The film might stream on Prime Video later, given that all Warner Bros. movies mostly land up on Prime Video in India.

For those who don’t know, Operation Mincemeat is a compelling and gripping drama, directed by John Madden. The film stars Colin Firth, Kelly Macdonald, Matthew Macfadyen, Penelope Wilton, Johnny Flynn, and Jason Isaacs. Set in 1943, the film centers on the Allies fight to break Hitler’s grip on occupied Europe.

Operation Mincemeat is streaming on Netflix in the USA and Latin American countries. Have a look at the trailer of the film here –
