Telugu Megastar Chiranjeevi‘s Acharya is one of the most-awaited films in Tollywood this year. The recently released teaser had increased the hype and expectations on the film and that has led to a sensational demand for the film. The theatrical business is already skyrocketing and there is a similar demand for the film’s digital rights.
The makers are planning to sell the digital rights of the film as a bouquet which includes the rights of all languages. OTT platforms are very much interested but then, we have learned that they are bewildered by the prices quoted by the filmmakers.
“The prices are on par with the hyped Pan-India projects from the South. But the fact is that except for the Telugu version, there is no much sheen for the remaining languages. So, the makers may have to correct themselves to offload the digital rights. Realistically, the deal can not be locked at this stage,” a source told us. We are told that a similar situation has happened with the film’s satellite rights as well and the makers had reduced their expected amount by at least 40%, sources say. Acharya is being readied for the May 13th release as Summer Special.
