Actress Adah Sharma may have had several crests and troughs in her film career, but has managed to reinvent herself and consistently find interesting work in the entertainment industry. Her next is a web series The Holiday, produced by The Zoom Studios, that presents a refreshing dimension of her acting abilities, one where she’s cool, fun and real at the same time without any of the heaviness in roles that she’s often been stereotyped to. A simple, slice-of-life comedy revolving around a bachelorette where the soon-to-be bride holidays with her three guy-best friends in Mauritius, the first episode of the series has hit the headlines for the right reasons.
Talking about the series, she shares, “It’s exciting to test newer waters after all. I completely related to the lead character and I too have guy friends whom I’ve known since childhood. The premise of a holiday with three such friends who are not romantically involved with the girl attracted me towards the script. I can totally imagine myself doing that in the future.”
She enjoyed bonding with her co-stars Priyank Sharma, Aashim Gulati and Veer Rajwant Singh. Because they play characters who are best-friends with Adah since third grade, it was important for them to share a friendly on-screen vibe and not fake it. “If the chemistry shows on the screen, it’s because the guys involved me in everything that they did on and off the sets. We went to the gym together, climbed a tree, travelled and I felt one among them. So, I’m glad these efforts are paying off,” she states.
Adah plays a makeup blogger in the series and is all to don vibrant, colourful attires across the 10 episodes that would stream on Youtube in the coming weeks. “A good chunk of that credit goes to my stylist Shiraz, who’s worked with leading banners of Bollywood. He knows well about giving me a rich look, without making it look like I’ve tried too hard or I have a huge wardrobe,” the actress, who was last seen in Kalki, quips. Well, we wish her luck in the new innings and the start, from what we see, has been promising enough.
