Adhura; Will Prime Video Series Bank On Bone Twisting Horror?

Prime Video is bringing a horror series next month. The series has a similar setting to the formula based horror of 2000s which makes it a big turn off.

When Hollywood is experimenting with psychological horror, body horror and many more innovation in the revival of the genre, India is stuck in the same formula.

An old large mansion, which in this case is an old boarding school of the mountains. Ages old sin which finally takes a home in an innocent young boy. This causes anarchy as the senior batch from 2007 arrives and they start getting punished for something which they did.

And then starts a series of bone cracking horror, which Mukesh Bhatt is widely known for.

At least, this is what we get from the trailer. Now the question is, was it needed in 2023? Indians have evolved with the exposure of OTT and Prime Video itself, streamed films like Smile, M3GAN, and more.

The trailer of Adhura is a massive disappointment, and we just hope that it is not the same as the whole series.

The series stars Ishwak Singh, Poojan Chhabra, Rijul Ray, Zoa Morani, Sahil Salathia and Aru Krishansh Verma, Rasika Dugal, Shrenik Arora, and Rahul Dev in important roles.

It is scheduled for release on July 7. But you know Prime Video, they’ll most probably launch it on July 6, 10 PM.
