A couple of months back, the stakeholders of Adivi Sesh’s upcoming movie ‘Major’ had announced that the film was postponed and would release in theatres on 27th May 2022. However, there is again a slight change in the release date plans for the film. Now, ‘Major’ has set its new theatrical release date one week later, that is, on 3rd June 2022. The film will be released in Hindi, Telugu, and Malayalam languages. Along with the latest announcement, a new poster for the film featuring has also been revealed.
The massively mounted film ‘Major’ is inspired by the life, love, and legacy of the hero of the 26/11 2008 Mumbai attacks – Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan. Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan was an Indian Army officer who served in the elite Special Action Group of the National Security Guards (NSG).
The film would ostensibly narrate the events of how Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan saved the lives of many hostages during the obnoxious November 2008 Mumbai terrorist attacks and eventually he was martyred by terrorists.
Adivi Sesh is playing the titular role in ‘Major’, which also marks his Hindi movie debut in the film directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka. The film also features proficient performers like Revathi, Prakash Raj, and Sobhita Dhulipala, amongst others.
‘Major’ has been produced by superstar Mahesh Babu in collaboration with Sony Pictures India and A+S Movies. Besides ‘Major’, Adivi Sesh’s forthcoming acting project also includes Sailesh Kolanu’s cop action thriller movie ‘HIT: The Second Case’, which is a sequel to the 2020 film ‘HIT: The First Case’.
