Adivi Sesh’s ‘Major’: A Sleeper Hit In Times Of BB2, Vikram

Adivi Sesh’s debut Hindi film ‘Major’ has been soaring high on praise ever since the film released not just in India but globally as well. Moreover, the official box office numbers say that the biographical action drama film has now grossed ₹60 crores worldwide.

Revealing the stats on his social media Adivi Sesh wrote,

“The WORLD loves #MAJOR ❤️”

The ‘Goodachari’ star had earlier claimed ‘Major’ to be the biggest blockbuster of his career and expressed gratitude for the same to God, audience, team and producers. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that ‘Major’ is not just a film for Adivi Sesh but a career defining moment given the film’s success.

Along with praise from industry icons like Amitabh Bachchan, Pawan Kalyan and Chiranjeevi, fans and critics too have been pouring love for ‘Major’ and the team.

The credit also goes to the marketing team behind ‘Major’ for coming up with various strategies that made the film work in major circuits. Whether it was special per-screening in select cities, reasonable ticket pricing to the most recent one where 50% discount has been offered for all school screenings, it has all worked in favour for the film.

This success becomes more remarkable given that ‘Major’ clashed with blockbuster hits like Kartik Aaryan’s ‘Bhool Bhulaiaya 2’ and Kamal Haasan’s ‘Vikram’. While ‘Major’ could have easily been lost between such huge films it very well managed to create its own niche and became a sleeper hit.
