Adolescence Season 2 might be up Netflix’s sleeve! According to Deadline, Brad Pitt’s production house, Plan B Entertainment, is in talks with the streamer for a second season of the globally sensational crime drama series, created by the duo of Jack Thorne and Stephen Graham.
Following the successful conclusion of Adolescence last month, Plan B’s co-heads Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner revealed to Deadline that they are in discussions with director Philip Barantini regarding the future development of the series, which featured and was co-written by Graham.
However, the second season—if it receives the green light from both Plan B and Netflix—may feature a different story.
At this point, it’s hard to tell whether the creators will continue Jamie Miller’s (Owen Cooper) story, or if they’ll adopt an anthology format for Season 2, allowing them to explore an entirely new crime narrative while retaining their signature one-shot filming technique.
Adolescence was a major success for Netflix in terms of viewership, earning over 96.7 million views within its first three weeks. It also became the most-watched series in several countries, including the United Kingdom, India, and more.
Interestingly, this Stephen Graham-led project found surprising but noticeable viewership in India, where filmmakers like Anurag Kashyap, Sudhir Mishra, and others openly praised the series for its bold storytelling and innovative filming style.
Stream Adolescence now on Netflix. Stay tuned for more updates.
