No matter how bad the content slate was, at least JioCinema was free. No matter if the bugs annoyed us, at least we could watch the content for free. No matter if the ads annoyed you even after paying ₹1000, at least you could watch the damn matches.
Then, JioCinema brought the industry shaking plan starting from merely ₹29/month. The honey sweet plan is charming enough to make a lot of people buzz like bees.
So, a lot of people bought the plan but that did not end up satisfying them at all. It is not the first time though. They have a history of not serving up to people’s expectations.
Regardless, what is the new update?
People are experiencing cases of buffering and pop-up ads on the app. We realise that JioCinema has stopped the ads that used to appear while streaming. The whole idea of taking a subscription and promising “no-ad” means that users should not be burdened with ads.
But, it is absolutely okay for people to find banner ads annoying and ethically speaking, they should not be getting it.
Now that JioCinema has started taking a fee, they should at least fix these issues for good. When will they do it? Time will tell.
