After Ajeeb Daastaans, It’s Now Time For Kayoze Irani’s Directorial Debut!

By Binged Bureau - May 03, 2021 @ 06:05 pm

Kayoze Irani debuted into the industry as an actor with Karan Johar’s Student of The Year, along with Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, and Siddharth Malhotra in 2012. Even though he came into the industry as an actor, his sole wish was always to be behind the camera, directing and making films.

He made this come true though, because even before he started his career as an actor, he got a taste of filmmaking as he started off with Dharma Productions as an assistant director for few of their films. Now, recently Kayoze Irani was in the news for another great movie and that was Netflix and Karan Johar’s latest anthology film “Ajeeb Daastaans”. The movie that consisted of four short films also included his short film titled “Ankahi” that starred Manav Kaul and Shefali Shah in the leads.

The movie as well as his short film received a lot of praises from everyone including the viewers and critics. Now, with such an achievement in hand Karan Johar is all set to give him a big responsibility and that is a brand new movie. Dharma Productions and KJo himself, have been meaning to make a movie set in the pre-partition period of India.

The movie is already estimated to be a big budget movie and with it Kayoze Irani will direct his official debut feature film. The production house is on the lookout for the actors for this upcoming venture at the moment. It is to be noted that Kayoze Irani was recently introduced as one of 14 directors from Dharma Productions, by Karan Johar himself.

Though not much has been revealed about this latest and upcoming, it is touted to be an emotional thriller and coming from Dharma, it will without doubt be a big budget movie. Karan Johar is known to give breaks to young talents in the industry and bringing such a talented filmmaker into the game who has over time proved his worth will definitely be someone people will look out for.

Besides, acting in SOTY, Irani also acted in The Legend of Michael Mishra and Youngistaan. Before that he assisted in direction for Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu. He has tried his luck in acting but he has always maintained the fact that he loves filmmaking more and hence he would like to venture more into it.
