After Black Lightning’s Departure, Here’s How DCTV’s Justice League Looks Like!

CW did a lot of hard work in finally forming the much-awaited justice league. A journey of around 8 years which began in 2012 with ‘Arrow‘. Then in 2014 arrived the scarlet speedster in the form of ‘The Flash’. The superhero duo featured in a number of crossover events until more characters in the form of Legends, Supergirl arrived.

Since the last 3 seasons of these shows, it was pretty evident that somewhere in the near future the possibility of Justice League formation was in the mind of CW officials. And this year finally we saw our beloved justice league with – Flash, Batwoman, Supergirl, Superman, Sara Lance, and Black Lightning. Since after “Crisis” all their universes and worlds merged into Earth-Prime, we’ll be seeing much more of them in the coming years.

But the idea has taken a serious hit with many of the unfortunate events that have taken place this year. Firstly, the absence of the fan-favorite vigilante ‘Green Arrow’ due to his death left fans in sorrow. And with news of Ruby Rose leaving the show as Batwoman left a huge void in the Justice League. While Batwoman got its new leader in the form of Javicia Leslie, it would be expected that she’ll be making appearances as Batwoman from now on in the annual crossovers.

Another dent is from the announcement of Supergirl being taken off air as the show will be coming to an end after its sixth season. This means that Melissa Benoist who plays Supergirl might probably not return regularly as she did in previous years’ shows. While there is positive news that a new spinoff show ‘Superman and Lois’ is in works with CW and we might see the “Girl of Steel” making casual appearances there.

The latest news comes from the sets of Black Lightning where the makers announced that the show will be canceled after it’s season 4, which will be premiering next year. Hence there is a low possibility of Black Lightning returning to the justice league squad.

The only regulars which have their place cemented as of now are Barry Allen aka The Flash and Sara Lance aka White Canary. With several recasts, cancellations, and what not, it might be difficult to see the favorite Justice League without major characters and actors all of whom have created a place in the audience’s mind.

But we must never lose hope, who knows CW might bring all the major characters for the yearly crossover to give the fans a treat!
