Amazon Prime Video has made a few more deals with Warner Bros. Discovery, HBO Max and Sony to boost its views in France. The deal will give Amazon Prime Video the first window rights to some exclusive tv series from Warner Bros. Discovery. The shows include ‘Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin’, first two seasons of ‘The Sex Life Of College Girls’, season 1 of DC’s ‘Peacemaker’, Available DuVernay’s miniseries ‘DMZ’.
The director of the content team, Salar Baghery, who joined the business development team in France for Prime Video in 2018, made the deal for the company.
Prime Video terminated the pact for second-window subscription rights of theatricals of movies by Sony Pictures in France. Now it will have access to Sony movies after 17 months of the theatrical release of the movies.
Warner Bros. Discovery in France has a good deal of originality dramas that are not part of this deal. The combined streaming service of Warner Bros. And HBO Max is not going to launch upto 2024. That is why the agreement with Warner Bros. Discovery will start off at the end of this year.
Pretty Little Lies is a HBO Max original created by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Lindsay Calhoun-Bring. The Sex Lives Of College Girls tells the story of some roommates in the prestigious Essex College of England. The show is created by Emmy-nominated writer and producer Mindy Kaling and Justin Noble.
DMZ is a dystopian drama set in the near future in an America torn by civil war. The HBO original is created by Roberto Patino, Duverney and Ernst Dickerson.
Peacemaker created by James Gunn, on the other hand extends the DC universe of ‘The Suicide Squad’ and stars John Cena.
These will now be available in France under Amazon Prime Video. This is a great deal made by Prime Video and it will definitely increase views and subscribers for the platform.
