Erstwhile Bollywood diva Karisma Kapoor recently made a commendable debut in the digital domain with the ALTBalaji series ‘Mentalhood’. And it is now the turn of her daughter Samaira Kapur to debut in the web space. The pretty teenager recently acted in a short film titled Daud, which features a heartwarming story at its core.

Interestingly, Daud marks the debut in the entertainment world of another youngster with a prominent filmy connection. The short, seven-and-a-half-minute film has been written and directed by Ananya Panday’s younger sister Rysa Panday. Dad Chunky Pandey has produced the short film for his darling daughter. Daud also features actor Sanjay Kapoor’s younger son Jahaan Kapoor in a role parallel to Samaira’s.

The story centers on a young slum girl who sells pencils for a living alongside her mother. The youngster has a flair for running and the potential to make it big in the world of athletics. Samaira, Jahaan and another young actress Dhaniti Parekh, play well-to-do youngsters who help the young slum girl in her quest. They help her buy good running shoes and motivate her to give it her best shot.

We think, the youngsters couldn’t have chosen a better subject to make their debuts in the digital world. It is commendable to see these youngsters, who will go on to form the next generation of actors, writers and directors in the entertainment world, make content that has its heart in the right place.
