Cillian Murphy can be seen in the trailer for his latest project, “Small Things Like These.” The Oscar-winning actor has a story to tell regarding the making of this movie, which is as moving as the trailer for the movie itself. Back in 2021, Cillian himself was fiddling with the idea of a movie. The kind of movie he would like to produce. This was the beginning of this adaptation of the 2021 released book by Claire Keegan.
After this, Murphy went on to discuss the project with his then-co-star Matt Damon. Then he went on to take the Oscar for the best actor for his work in Oppenheimer. After which the project was finally coming together, the trailer for which is right in front of us.
The movie will follow Bill Furlong, an Irishman in the 1980s. A coal merchant by profession who goes up against the atrocities of the local convent. Based off of the Magdalene Laundries, which would separate children from their birth mothers, the movie will see the conflicts drawn out as an intricate exploration of Bill’s own personal life and his history.
Murphy mentions that the movie is “massively intertwined with the Irish people, history, culture, and the traumas.” The movie is set to release on November 8. Directed by Tim Mielants, the movie will have talents like Emily Watson, Clare Dunne, and Ciaran Hinds.
