The stunning success of Amazon Prime Video’s The Family Man 2 is there for all to see. The spy series has managed to break the second season jinx and wowed everyone with its sophomore season. And its lead, Manoj Bajpayee, has won hearts all around. In fact, Manoj Bajpayee is easily the hottest property in the Indian OTT space right now. No wonder then that Netflix has grabbed hold of Manoj Bajpayee, and is not letting go of him anytime soon. For those not in the know, Manoj Bajpayee is already a part of a much-talked-about Netflix show. He’s one of the leads in ‘Ray’, Netflix’s anthology of short films celebrating the works of the maestro, Satyajit Ray.
As per reports in the media, Netflix has signed the versatile actor for a new series – supposedly a black comedy. The series will be directed by talented filmmaker Abhishek Chaubey. Chaubey is well-known for his distinctive film-making style, not to say, his singularly unique films, Ishqiya, Udta Punjab, and Sonchiriya.
Abhishek Chaubey is also one of the directors for Netflix’s ‘Ray’. In fact, his lead actor for his short film, ‘Hungama Hai Kyon Barpa’, is again Manoj Bajpayee, along with Gajraj Rao as the parallel lead.
Netflix has also signed on a lead actress alongside Manoj Bajpayee, for the black comedy series. Her name is under wraps as of now. The Abhishek Chaubey – Manoj Bajpayee Netflix series is expected to go on floors later this year.
